Participation at a National level through our Advocacy Committee is certainly one way for these folks to do that. Hopefully there would be a local or state Plastic Surgery Society for them to access that is engaged in these efforts as well.
As the Chair of the Advocacy Committee for The Aesthetic Society, I believe that advocacy for the specialty and the welfare of our patients is tremendously important. I am heartened to hear that this is similarly important to others and their energies directed towards this end is valuable and should be put to use wherever and whenever possible. Engaging with state and local legislators is one way for them to start if they aren't in an area with a local or state society to reach out to.
If others have advice, please chip in with your ideas.

Subject: Opportunities?
Hi Everyone,
Would it be possible for someone who is plugged into the advocacy world to provide ways for aesthetic society members to get more involved. In my state, we have a state society that focuses on advocacy but I've heard from others who do not have such a thing in their state.
Thanks,
Mark
